Three New Ways to Wear Crochet Hair

Summertime is officially underway! If you haven’t tried a crochet protective style… what are you waiting for? There are so many options to update your look, it can be difficult to choose one. If you like to switch up your style often, check out these three new ways to wear crochet hair.

Half and Half

Half & Half Crochet Style

If you aren’t ready to commit to the time or cost of a full head crochet style, try out a half and half look! The options are endless. You can opt for a half up / half down look. The look can be achieved either by styling your own hair in a bun or braids on top or adding extensions for volume. You’ll save money because you will cut the number of packs of hair that you need to purchase in half.

If you really want to get creative, you can switch the type of crochet hair in the style while maintaining the braids. This will add variety to your style, especially if you get bored easily.

Kick it Up a Notch

Updos with Crochet Hair

The summertime is also wedding season. Destination or beach weddings are great until you are standing (or sitting) in 100 degree weather for hours! Even if you aren’t bracing the heat for summertime nuptials, updo’s are perfect for any type of wedding. Curly crochet hair doesn’t lend well to updo styles.

Straight or body wave hair is perfect to create fancy updos with crochet hair. It’s easy to install and remove. Work hair pins hold it in place perfectly. Your natural hair can be secured in ponytails to attach the crochet hair. For a fancier look, you can add braids, twists and hair accessories to the look.

French Braids

French Braids

Need a cute style.. quick? Two jumbo French braids with textured hair is my go to! This is especially the case if I need a look for a weekend trip or photoshoot. The look can be altered by creating 3, 4 or 5 braids. You can also add zig zag parts, hair jewelry and color.

This style requires your natural hair to be exposed so it’s not the best style for swimming. To maintain the curly or wavy texture, simply braid, twist or roll 2-3 times a week.
